Shallow Parents indulging in “Cutest Baby Contest”

Just came across this Facebook post of the “Cutest Baby Contest”. If you search further into the post, you will get to know that if you have a cute kid, you can share his/her picture with these people and can win $25,000.  What the hell is wrong with the world? They are kids for the sake of almighty. SPARE THEM. Stop fooling around with them for the satisfaction of your own personal ego and pride. Oh! And yes, just for the sake of information, such contests have existed since years now. So, it’s not completely right to blame this organisation alone.

I always knew that the world is shallow. But now, I have a living proof of it. Is this the kind of world we want to create for our future generations? Let them grow up a little and decide for themselves what they want to compete in. Also, every kid is cute and every kid is special in its own way.

We should try to teach our kids to not be judgemental. We should teach them that beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder. I pity the parents who let their kids be a part of such competitions.

God Bless India.

As far as the beauty pageants are concerned, at least the applicants are grown up enough to consider and then apply.
I am just against the tiny infants being made part of this. We are setting a wrong example.

I completely agree with you.. I don’t understand how easily parents fall for these things. Not only baby contests but the reality shows as well, where kids shows more maturity than their age or rather they are forced to act like that. I feel in this process, they somehow loose their innocence with which they should grow up.
